Lay, route, and terminate instrument and multicore cables; install junction boxes, cable trays, glands, and supports. Fabricate, install, and pressure-test impulse lines, tubing, and fittings. Calibrate and bench-test instruments using approved, certified equipment and record results on calibration certificates. Perform continuity checks, point-to-point testing, and loop checks from field device to control room across DCS, PLC, ESD, and Fire & Gas systems. Carry out stroke testing, positioner setup, and tuning support for control valves and actuators. Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, plant start-up, and performance testing until systems are accepted by the client. Assist with Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT) and simulate process conditions where required. Diagnose and rectify faults in instruments, control loops, and associated electrical and pneumatic components. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in line with the approved maintenance plan. Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and plant modifications, replacing or upgrading instruments while maintaining system integrity. Work strictly within the Permit-to-Work system and follow lock-out/tag-out, confined space, work-at-height, and hot work procedures. Ensure installation and maintenance in hazardous areas comply with area classification and applicable standards (e.g., ATEX/IECEx, API RP 500/505, NEC/NFPA 70). Participate in toolbox talks, job safety analyses, and risk assessments; report incidents and near misses promptly and stop work when conditions are unsafe. Complete inspection and test plans (ITPs), checksheets, calibration records, and loop test dossiers accurately and on time. Mark up as-built drawings and support preparation of the handover/turnover documentation package. Maintain tools, test equipment, calibration due dates, and spare parts records. Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, piping, and commissioning teams to resolve interface issues. Qualifications Diploma or certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Control Engineering, or an equivalent recognized trade qualification. 4 - 8 years of experience as an I&C technician, including at least 2-3 years on oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical projects. Proven hands-on experience in loop checking, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems. Experience in both construction and commissioning phases is an advantage.
