Mechanical Foreman (Piping)

Manage, supervise and coordinate day-to-day mechanical piping and equipment installation activities across all active CHS sites, moving between locations as project demands require. Lead, allocate and motivate site crews, technicians and subcontractors — planning manpower, tools and materials to meet daily and weekly targets. Supervise installation, modification, testing and commissioning of compressed air and chilled water piping systems (carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, HDPE/aluminium press-fit and associated networks). Supervise the mechanical installation, positioning, alignment, levelling and hook-up of major equipment — air compressors, air dryers/receivers, chillers, pumps and associated ancillaries — including foundations, anti-vibration mounts and connection to piping and services. Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, GA layouts and technical specifications, and set out works accurately on site. Oversee pipe fitting, welding, brazing, threading, flanging, supports and bracketing, pressure testing and leak testing to project and industry standards. Enforce HSE requirements at all times — conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments and method-statement compliance, and maintain a safe, clean and organised work site. Monitor quality of workmanship, carry out inspections, prepare snag lists and ensure defects are closed out before handover. Track material consumption, raise site material requests and coordinate with procurement and stores to avoid delays. Report daily progress, manpower and site issues to the Projects / Operations Manager; escalate risks and variations promptly. Liaise professionally with clients, consultants and main contractors on site regarding progress, access and inspections. Support commissioning teams during start-up of compressed air and chilled water systems and assist with client handover documentation. Mentor junior fitters and helpers, promoting CHS's standards of safety, quality and integrity. Proven track record in a foreman or site supervisory role. Strong background in compressed air and/or chilled water piping systems within industrial, commercial or utility environments. Hands-on experience installing and commissioning rotating and utility equipment such as air compressors and chillers (positioning, alignment, hook-up and start-up support). Technical diploma / ITI / trade certificate in mechanical, piping or a related discipline (degree an advantage). Valid UAE driving licence - role requires independent travel between multiple sites. Solid ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics and P&IDs. Working knowledge of welding, brazing, pressure testing and pipe support systems, and of relevant HSE and quality standards. UAE / GCC site experience strongly preferred; familiarity with local regulations and site practices. Confident site leader able to manage several sites and teams simultaneously. Excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving skills under pressure. Strong communication in English (Hindi / Urdu / Arabic an advantage for site teams).
