Qualifications and Skills: Educational Background : Degree or diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Certifications : Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management. Additional qualifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) or Laboratory Practices are advantageous. Technical Expertise : Proficiency in chemical safety protocols, laboratory procedures, and quality control methods. Knowledge of chemical handling, hazardous materials management, and regulatory compliance. Experience : Hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or laboratory setting. Proven track record of assisting in the implementation and monitoring of QHSE policies and procedures. Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with local, national, and international regulations and standards related to chemical manufacturing and laboratory operations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, REACH). Analytical Skills : Strong ability to analyze and interpret data, prepare reports, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Communication Skills : Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external partners. Problem-Solving : Ability to identify, assess, and address potential risks or non-compliance issues proactively. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of QHSE policies and procedures within the chemical manufacturing and laboratory environment. Support the QAQC team in conducting regular audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company protocols. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to quality, health, safety, and environmental performance. Facilitate training and awareness programs for staff on QHSE practices, safety protocols, and emergency procedures. Maintain up-to-date records of safety incidents, compliance issues, and corrective actions taken. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve QHSE related concerns, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence. .
