About this opportunity

About the Fellowship We are looking for a Market Intelligence & Sales Fellow who wants hands-on exposure to how an early-stage company validates a market, identifies commercial opportunities, and turns research into business development. This role combines two closely connected disciplines: Market Intelligence — understanding the market, customers, competitors, pricing and opportunities. Sales & Business Development — turning those insights into conversations, partnerships, leads and potential customers. You will work closely with the founder and contribute to real commercial decisions around Traelli’s launch and growth strategy. This is not a role where you will simply prepare reports. We want someone who is willing to research, speak to people, test assumptions and convert insights into action. What You May Work On Your work may include: Researching the home and technical services market in Saudi Arabia Analysing competitors operating in AC, electrical, plumbing and broader home services Comparing competitor pricing, service models, guarantees, response times and customer experience Identifying underserved customer segments and geographic opportunities Conducting customer interviews and structured market surveys Identifying recurring customer pain points Analysing customer reviews and market sentiment Building market-sizing and opportunity assessments Supporting TAM, SAM and SOM research Researching residential compounds, property managers, SMEs and other potential customer segments Identifying potential B2B and partnership opportunities Building lead databases Supporting outreach to prospective customers and partners Testing sales messages and value propositions Supporting cold outreach through email, LinkedIn and other appropriate channels Recording and analysing objections from potential customers Supporting early customer acquisition experiments Tracking competitor launches, pricing changes and service expansion Developing market-entry recommendations for Al Jubail, Dammam and Al Khobar Contributing to future geographic and service-category expansion research Example Research Questions You may help Traelli answer questions such as: What problems frustrate customers most when booking technical services? Why do customers choose one service provider over another? What makes customers trust or distrust a home-service platform? How important are guarantees, technician professionalism, response time and transparent pricing? Which customer segments experience the greatest service-quality problems? Which areas of the Eastern Province appear underserved? What should Traelli charge for different types of services? What objections would prevent customers from trying Traelli? Which services generate the strongest repeat demand? Which partnerships could accelerate customer acquisition? Which customer groups could become recurring B2B accounts? What should Traelli avoid copying from existing competitors? Typical Deliverables During the fellowship, you may produce: Competitor intelligence reports Customer interview summaries Market opportunity maps Pricing comparisons Customer-segment analyses Sales lead databases B2B prospect lists Customer pain-point reports Sales outreach experiments Objection libraries Partnership opportunity reports Market-entry recommendations Weekly commercial intelligence briefs Sales pipeline reports Service-category opportunity assessments The objective is not simply to collect information. Every piece of research should ultimately answer: What should Traelli do differently because we now know this? This fellowship may be particularly suitable for: Business Administration students or graduates Marketing students or graduates Sales and Business Development professionals MBA students Economics students Entrepreneurship students Market Research candidates Management students Commercial or strategy graduates Early-career professionals interested in startups Candidates from technical or engineering backgrounds who are interested in commercial strategy are also welcome. Previous startup experience is helpful but not required. What We Are Looking For We particularly value candidates who: Are comfortable speaking with new people Can conduct structured market research Are curious about customer behaviour Can distinguish assumptions from evidence Are comfortable with cold outreach Can analyse competitors objectively Communicate clearly in writing and conversation Take ownership without waiting for detailed instructions Are comfortable working in an early-stage environment Can turn research into practical recommendations Are willing to challenge the founder’s assumptions when evidence suggests otherwise Being able to prepare a PowerPoint presentation is not enough. We are looking for people who can find information, interpret it, test it in the market and act on what they learn. Preferred Skills Any combination of the following would be useful: Market research Sales Business development Customer interviews Competitive analysis Lead generation CRM Excel / Google Sheets PowerPoint LinkedIn outreach Email outreach Data analysis Survey design B2B sales Startup strategy Arabic and English communication Knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province is particularly valuable. What You Will Gain The fellowship offers direct exposure to how an early-stage company moves from concept to market. You may gain practical experience across: Market Research × Startup Strategy × Sales × Business Development × Customer Discovery × Commercial Operations Strong contributors may also receive: Fellowship completion certificate LinkedIn recommendation based on contribution Direct exposure to founder-level commercial decisions Portfolio-ready market research where confidentiality permits Experience working on real customer acquisition problems Opportunity to participate in Traelli’s early market-entry strategy Consideration for future paid employment at Traelli Future Full-Time Opportunities One of the purposes of this fellowship is also to identify high-potential people who may eventually join Traelli’s core team. Exceptional performance may lead to consideration for future roles such as: Market Intelligence Associate Business Development Executive Sales Executive Growth Associate Partnerships Associate Founder’s Office / Strategy Associate However, participation in the fellowship guarantees employment . Any future full-time opportunity would depend on individual performance, mutual fit, company requirements, funding, legal/work-authorisation requirements and position availability. Traelli’s future operating team is tentatively expected to be based primarily in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia . Candidates should therefore indicate whether they would be willing to work from or relocate to Al Jubail if offered a suitable future full-time position. Important This is an 8–12 week volunteer fellowship . There is no salary or stipend during the fellowship period . The programme is intended for research, commercial experimentation, learning and contribution to selected early-stage initiatives. It is not intended to replace a normal salaried operational or sales employee. How to Apply Please submit your CV and briefly answer the following: Why are you interested in Traelli? How many hours per week can you realistically contribute? Which interests you more: market intelligence, sales/business development, or both? What do you hope to gain from the fellowship? What do you believe you could contribute to Traelli within 8–12 weeks? Are you comfortable speaking to potential customers and conducting customer interviews? Are you comfortable with cold outreach to potential customers or business partners? If offered a future full-time position, would you be willing to work from Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia ? Short Application Challenge Please answer in no more than 200 words: “If Traelli were launching in Al Jubail, Dammam and Al Khobar tomorrow, what is the first thing you would want to learn about the market before spending money on customer acquisition?” We are more interested in how you think and how you approach evidence than in polished corporate language. Help us understand the market before we try to change it.
