Cashier

About this opportunity

Greet customers, answer enquiries, recommend products and resolve complaints professionally. Process cash, debit, credit and cheque payments accurately using POS systems. Scan items and verify product codes, prices and promotions. Handle returns and exchanges according to company procedures. Maintain adequate change, calculate change correctly and reconcile cash drawers with sales receipts at shift closing. Maintain product knowledge and support upselling, cross-selling and store sales targets. Keep checkout areas, merchandise displays and the store clean and organised. Assist with receiving deliveries, replenishing shelves, rotating stock and inventory counts. Report equipment issues and help prevent theft or damage. Follow company policies and safety procedures, and work collaboratively with colleagues. High school diploma. Two or more years of cashier or customer service experience preferred. Experience handling cash and operating cash registers or common POS systems. Good spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage. Strong basic maths skills and accuracy in payments, change calculations and cash reconciliation. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. Sales skills, teamwork, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or carry merchandise. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
