Airfreight Operations Specialist

About this opportunity

Manage and execute end-to-end airfreight shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery from origin to destination. Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, and customs brokers to facilitate smooth cargo movement and compliance. Prepare and verify all necessary shipping documentation, including air waybills, commercial invoices, and packing lists. Monitor shipment progress in real-time, proactively identifying and resolving any delays or disruptions. Calculate and audit freight charges, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements. Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on shipment status and addressing inquiries. Implement and maintain operational procedures to optimize efficiency and minimize errors. Handle import and export customs clearance processes, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including carriers and vendors. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience specifically within airfreight operations. Proven expertise in international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures. Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and transportation management systems (TMS). Strong understanding of airline cargo products and operational capabilities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines. Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in other languages, such as Spanish or Mandarin, is a plus. Possession of relevant certifications like IATA DGR or CGBP is highly advantageous.
