Job ID: PRJ-DXB-2267 Department: Projects Job Type: Permanent Location: Dubai Job Details Timesworld is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to design, build and maintain secure, reliable and scalable database systems for enterprise platforms and client projects. The role covers database architecture, performance optimisation, data integration and operational reliability. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain database schemas, data models and structures aligned with application and reporting requirements. Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and indexing strategies. Monitor database performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks and plan capacity. Build and maintain data integration, migration and ETL/ELT processes across multiple sources. Implement data validation, integrity and reconciliation controls. Configure and test backups, restoration procedures, replication and disaster recovery. Manage database access, permissions, encryption and audit logging in coordination with security teams. Support database deployment, version upgrades, patching and controlled schema changes. Work with application developers and analysts to support transactional systems, reporting and analytics. Maintain documentation and automate routine administration and monitoring activities. Requirements (Qualifications/Experience/Competencies) Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related discipline. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in database engineering, development or administration. Strong expertise in relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL. Advanced SQL skills and practical experience in query tuning, indexing, execution plans and transaction management. Experience with database migration, integration and production support. Sound understanding of backup and recovery, high availability, access control and data security. Experience working with cloud-hosted and/or on-premises databases. Strong troubleshooting, documentation and collaboration skills. Preferred Experience with data warehouses, dimensional modelling and analytical workloads. Knowledge of NoSQL databases and scripting with Python, PowerShell or similar tools. Experience supporting multi-tenant enterprise platforms and large datasets. Relevant database or cloud certifications.
