Data Center Operations & Sales Manager

We are seeking a commercially minded Data Center Operations & Sales Manager to lead the reliable, secure and efficient operation of data center facilities while growing revenue through new customer acquisition and existing client relationships. The role combines operational leadership with sales and business development. The successful candidate will oversee service performance, facility availability, customer satisfaction, budgets and compliance, while identifying opportunities to sell colocation, hosting, managed services and related data center solutions. Data Center Operations Oversee day-to-day data center operations, ensuring facility availability, security and service continuity. Monitor critical infrastructure, including power systems, UPS, generators, cooling, fire detection and suppression, physical security and building management systems. Manage planned preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, testing and emergency response. Maintain operating procedures, incident records, change controls, escalation processes and disaster recovery arrangements. Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate with facilities, network, IT, security and external service providers to meet service-level commitments. Oversee capacity planning for power, cooling, rack space and connectivity. Manage operational budgets, vendor contracts, spare parts and cost-control initiatives. Maintain operational dashboards and report on availability, incidents, capacity, service levels and customer issues. Sales & Business Development Develop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue, margin and customer-acquisition targets. Identify prospects and opportunities for colocation, rack space, power, connectivity, cloud, hosting and managed services. Build relationships with enterprise customers, government entities, telecom operators, cloud providers, system integrators and channel partners. Understand customer requirements and coordinate technical and commercial proposals. Lead pricing, negotiations, contract reviews and commercial presentations in line with company policy. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, prepare forecasts and provide regular updates to management. Manage the sales cycle from lead qualification through proposal, negotiation, contract award and handover to operations. Work with marketing and technical teams to develop market positioning, customer presentations and service offerings. Monitor market developments, competitor activity and customer needs to identify growth opportunities. Customer & Team Leadership Act as a senior escalation point for operational and service-related customer concerns. Build strong working relationships with clients and ensure service issues are communicated and resolved promptly. Lead, coach and develop operations and sales team members. Set team objectives, review performance and promote a culture of safety, accountability and customer service. Coordinate operational handovers for new customers and ensure agreed service requirements are documented and achievable. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, IT or a related engineering discipline; a business qualification is an advantage. Typically 8–12 years of relevant experience , including leadership experience in data center operations, critical facilities, colocation or managed services. Proven experience in data center or critical-facility operations, including power, cooling, security and maintenance.
