The Marine Boat Profile Designer is responsible for developing accurate, practical, and production ready 2D and 3D boat designs, including hull forms, external profiles, general arrangements, structural layouts, and detailed engineering drawings. The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of marine vessel design and demonstrate advanced proficiency in naval architecture and CAD software, with the ability to independently develop designs from initial concepts through manufacturing and construction. The position covers HDPE, aluminum, and fiberglass (FRP) boats, particularly patrol boats, interceptors, landing craft, workboats, and high-speed vessels. A. Boat Profile and Hull Design Develop 2D and 3D boat profiles, including side elevation, top view, hull geometry, and sectional views. Design hull forms, bow configurations, transoms, deck arrangements, superstructures, and wheelhouses. Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, including equipment, seating, machinery, fuel tanks, and operational layouts. Develop hull surfaces and fairing suitable for CNC cutting, mold construction, or direct fabrication. Ensure designs consider vessel stability, weight distribution, center of gravity, hydrodynamic performance, and constructability. Incorporate design modifications based on client specifications, classification requirements, and production feedback. B. Detailed Engineering and Production Drawings • Prepare detailed structural drawings, including bulkheads, frames, stringers, foundations, and reinforcement arrangements. • Develop cutting files, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and material specifications. • Generate CNC-ready DXF/DWG files and nesting information. Coordinate with production to resolve design discrepancies and fabrication challenges. Maintain drawing revision control and ensure approved drawings are issued on time. Develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on approved vessel designs. C. Design Verification and Technical Coordination • Support displacement, trim, stability, and weight assessment using appropriate marine design software. • Coordinate machinery and propulsion integration, including outboard engines, inboard engines, waterjets, steering systems, and onboard equipment. • Prepare documentation for review by classification societies and third-party consultants. • Review technical specifications and ensure alignment with client requirements. • Provide timely technical clarification during vessel construction, installation, commissioning, and sea trials. Bachelor's degree or diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years of relevant boat design or shipbuilding experience, preferably involving vessels between 8 and 20 meters. Proven experience designing high-speed patrol boats, interceptor craft, landing craft, or workboats. Strong understanding of HDPE, aluminum, and FRP construction methods. Practical experience preparing shop drawings, structural details, and CNC production files. Knowledge of applicable classification society requirements, including DNV, Türk Loydu, PRS, or other relevant marine standards. • Ability to interpret technical specifications and convert concept designs into manufacturable production drawings.
