Syntys is a leading digital infrastructure platform specializing in the design, development, and operation of carrier-neutral data centers across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). With an established and expanding network of facilities across strategic markets, Syntys delivers secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure for hyperscalers, AI clusters, and wholesale colocation providers. Through purpose-built facilities and build-to-suit solutions, Syntys supports the growing demand for cloud, AI, and advanced computing infrastructure, enabling the continued growth of the digital economy. The Vice President of Infrastructure & Site Selection is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of site strategy and infrastructure enablement across all the markets to support Syntys hyperscale data center expansion. This role oversees land sourcing, technical due diligence, permitting, and utility readiness to deliver scalable, build-ready sites aligned with business and client needs. The VP will work cross-functionally and externally to ensure site readiness, infrastructure feasibility, and alignment with hyperscaler requirements, enabling accelerated development of digital infrastructure. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES End-to-End Site Strategy Lead comprehensive site planning and selection across Syntys markets, including greenfield land identification, brownfield redevelopment, and existing facility due diligence. Conduct technical and commercial assessments of target sites covering zoning, environmental, access, and infrastructure readiness. Evaluate sites based on utility proximity, power and fiber availability, expansion potential, and regulatory ease. Develop and present early modular/hybrid concept designs and test fits tailored to Syntys scalable deployment model. Infrastructure & Utility Enablement Coordinate with government bodies, utility providers, and telecom operators to secure pre-approvals, grid connections, and fiber access. Develop infrastructure feasibility reports and cost models to support go/no-go decisions. Build long-term partnerships with utilities and regulators to streamline approvals and future expansions. Land Acquisition & Structuring Lead engagement with landowners, developers, and real estate agents to negotiate strategic acquisitions, JV structures, or long-term leases. Oversee due diligence and legal review in coordination with internal legal teams. Maintain a proactive land bank aligned with forecasted demand and regional growth priorities. Hyperscaler & Client Alignment Lead interactions with hyperscalers regarding site SOQs (Statements of Qualification), technical compliance, service level agreements (SLAs), and regional forecasts. Align site strategy with hyperscaler location priorities, latency requirements, and expansion targets. Design Governance Establish and maintain a standardized Syntys Design Playbook to drive site selection alignment with modularity, cost efficiency, energy sustainability, and hyperscaler readiness. Ensure new sites conform to company standards and future-proof engineering practices. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 15+ years of experience in site selection, infrastructure planning, and land development, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing infrastructure and land strategy within data centers, industrial parks, hyperscale environments, or related digital infrastructure and telecommunications sectors. Proven experience engaging with government authorities, utilities, telecom operators, and environmental agencies, preferably in the MENA region. Demonstrated track record in land acquisition, utility enablement, and permitting. Experience working directly with hyperscalers and wholesale clients is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Architecture, or a related discipline. Master's degree in Infrastructure Planning, Real Estate Development, or Engineering Management is preferred. Fluency in English is required; Arabic language capability is preferred.
