Sea Freight manager

About this opportunity

Key Job Responsibilities: Voyage calculations; Searching and fixing bulkers/tankers/coasters; Negotiate Charter parties and fix ocean freight for voyage charters; Maintaining active networks with shipowners, operators, brokers, agents and clients; Reviewing weekly freight markets and preparing internal commercial reports; Nominating the vessels to the shippers/consignees and coordinating the loading/unloading processes; Monitor the cargo readiness for the shipments and vessels queues/line-ups at loading/unloading ports; Forecast the chartered vessels departure/arrival; Control the cargo documents for incoming/outgoing chartered; Provide information on incoming and outgoing vessels; Freight payment arrangements; Calculate and coordinate the lay time negotiations (demurrage and dispatch) with ship owners, as well as with shippers/consignees/agents; Prepare and coordinate the vessels loading/unloading plans; ensure reporting and reviewing/commenting SOF; Preparing (filling up/getting approvals) letters of indemnity (LOI) with counterparties for light rain during loading/discharging, for discharging w/o OBL etc.; Cooperation with insurance and legal departments with regard to claims and protests. Requirements: Higher education (preferably on organization of transportation and process management in transport/logistics/navigation or other related studies on transportation of goods by sea); Knowledge of basic [BIMCO] forms of charter-parties and its general terms and conditions; Language proficiency: fluent English obligatory (incl. professional terminology skills) and Russian (as an advantage); 5 years of experience in maritime transportation/logistics preferably (3 years minimum); English Law basic principles within claim's negotiations; Knowledge of MS Office products, laytime calculation products (BV laytime, Enqlare and etc.), distance calculation programs (Netpas); Personal qualities: high level of responsibility, attention to details when working with documents, stress resistance, communication skills, ability to learn; Desire to develop in the logistics and freight field, deepening professional knowledge and skills.
