- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Must be highly qualified in accordance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is preferred. This requires one of the following:
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through passage of an approved formal state academic assessment (College Board’s SAT or ETS Parapro Assessment) in the following areas; a) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics or b) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness as appropriate.
- Must have completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours);
- OR
- Obtained an associate’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
- Two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled children, or two years of college in related area preferred.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community required.
- Must be able to perform personal hygiene duties is required.
- Employee must be able to walk, sit, lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is required.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education bylaws and policies is required.
- Must be able to work in-person.
- Building location may change as needed to meet the needs of the District.
- Other duties as assigned.
