Objectives: To perform according to the company’s Mission, Vision, Pillars of Success, Code of Ethics and Service Standards and continually provide optimal performance for; personal training revenue, ancillary services, net member growth and retention. To develop, manage and grow relationships with the existing member base by encouraging participation in all areas of the club. To increase member usage, longevity and club profitability.

Reports to: Fitness Director/Assistant Fitness Director

Criteria:

  • Exercise Science related degree preferred and an accredited personal training certification
  • Effective listening and strong communication skills with a high level of empathy
  • Customer-centric mentality
  • At least one year of customer service/retention/sales experience
  • Must possess resilient, positive demeanor through a variety of customer and team interactions
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task

Responsibilities Include and But Not limited To:

· Get and keep members, specifically steady monthly and/or growing retention and regular gains in revenue and personal training sessions performed.

  • Provide the highest quality of customer service to all members by greeting them with a welcoming, friendly, energetic and positive attitude at all times. Use the member’s name as often as possible.
  • Know and adhere to policies as outlined in the training and policy Manuals. Know club emergency response protocol and be prepared to act. Exercise sound judgment with safety as a priority.
  • Attend mandatory meetings.
  • Arrive & clock in 10 minutes early in proper uniform.
  • Perform personal training consultations as outlined in the personal training manual in a proper and safe manner.
  • Contact members who did not purchase personal training after a consultation to evaluate their experience and direct them to the next step as determined. I.e. AmFamU, fitness orientation, aquatic orientation, Group Fitness, personal training.
  • Must be visible on the floor and interacting with members during a.m. and p.m. prime time hours as designated by management.
  • Communicate effectively with other department heads, managers, sales and corporate staff as needed.
  • Read and acknowledge communications delivered from management.

· Maintain minimum of 10 billable sessions per week.

· Recruit new clients.

· Maintain accurate records for client files, payroll, and computer software reporting.

· Other duties as reasonably assigned.
