SCOPE:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing products to ensure they meet production standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspections: Performs first piece, receiving, in-process and final inspections
- Root cause analysis problem solving and corrective action initiation
- Maintain calibration of inspection measuring and test equipment and the associated history files on the PC based calibration system
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment performing inspections and using testing techniques
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and industrial standards to determine applicable characteristics, dimensions and tolerances
- GD&T basics
- Proficient with and practical knowledge of all types of measuring instruments and gages and inspection methods.
- Familiar with sampling plans
- Background with quality concepts and systems
- Proficient working knowledge of 6-S
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability
- Background in selection and setting up appropriate gages for inspection and selecting appropriate inspection methods, including SPC
- Meticulous record and file keeping and reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
