Title: Director of Finance
Location: New York, NY
Salary: $150,000 – $160,000
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Strategy – Supervise all financial activities, including planning, projections, accounting, reporting, and performance analysis to meet business objectives and minimize risks.
Planning & Projections – Lead the development of annual financial plans and projections in collaboration with property leadership, tracking performance and providing actionable insights on variances.
Reporting & Insights – Deliver accurate and timely financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow reports) to leadership and stakeholders, analyzing data to guide strategic decisions and operational improvements.
Liquidity Oversight – Manage cash flow to ensure operational stability, overseeing receivables, balances, and deposits while preparing cash flow projections and funding proposals.
Compliance & Processes – Ensure adherence to tax laws, licenses, permits, and legal agreements, while establishing and reviewing processes for procurement, payroll, inventory, and cash management.
Risk & Communication – Promptly report financial discrepancies or procedural weaknesses to leadership and support adherence to operational and financial standards.
Account Reconciliation – Oversee timely and accurate reconciliation of all financial accounts, including bank statements and records.
Team Leadership – Mentor and guide a financial team, setting performance goals, providing training, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, MUST HAVE hospitality experiencee
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
Proven ability to ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal financial controls.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business strategies.
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing a finance team.
Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with leadership and stakeholders.
