Journeyman Union Scale (Field Rate vs. Shop Rate).
$42.77 - $46.61 per hour (based on experience)(This pay range is a good-faith estimate of compensation for this role.)

Job Summary: The Mechanic role is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy construction equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, graders, excavators, loaders, and trucks. This role ensures that equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for use in the field to support paving and grading operations.
The day-to-day challenges keep you on your toes with variety and teamwork along with a chance at independence. Our mechanics get to play the “hero” role each day as they help keep our jobs moving and our equipment running and operating safely. The right person for this job is focused and coachable, has the drive to learn and succeed, and can work under pressure, all while having fun!
Other Requirements:All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test. References may also be checked. We participate in E-Verify.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- CDL Highly Preferred
- Paving equipment mechanic experience highly preferred
- 2 years' experience and/or Votech / Mechanical Training
- Good driving record
- Strong safety awareness and technical capacity
- Reliable and strong problem-solving skills
- High school education or GED equivalent.
- Strong team player
- Reliable and on-time.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and heavier loads with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
- Occasional climbing on and off heavy machinery.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and small parts.
- Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and exposure to lubricants and cleaning agents.
- Visual and auditory ability to detect equipment malfunctions and safety hazards.
Work Environment:
- Shop and field settings with exposure to heavy machinery, noise, and outdoor conditions.
- Must adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
