Position Summary:
Center For Family Services is seeking a full time Cook for our Juntos Program located in Bridgewater, Somerset County, NJ. The Cook will be responsible for overseeing the ordering and overall management of distribution of food within the program. The Cook will be act as a positive role model for children in the program. Juntos provides important services to unaccompanied minor children who immigrated into the United States. Services include; temporary shelter and support with family unification and home study and post release services. Family Reunification is the Juntos programs primary goal. Bilingual/Multilingual preferred but nor required.
Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to;
- Oversees the processing and storage of food and food related items as they are delivered.
- Participates in internal and external audits and performance improvement activities.
- Turns in menu alterations to supervisor.
- Checks email at least once a day and replies to requests as necessary.
- Interact with children daily to ascertain whether they like the meals served.
- Responsible for ensuring the food is ordered on time and that the food is served at the appropriate temperature.
- Responsible for understanding Juntos Standards and licensing regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred Associate's in Culinary Arts or related field
- 2 or more years experience working with the program population
- Current New Jersey driver's license with a driving record of at least three years
- Must pass an initial and ongoing Motor Vehicle record Check evaluations
