Our client is seeking aCommercial Litigation Paralegalto join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and research skills, experience supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation process, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Position is in Garden City and is hybrid (4 days in the office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, from inception through trial and appeal.
- Draft, review, and proofread pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Organize and manage case files, exhibits, and evidence.
- Conduct factual and legal research, including reviewing statutes, case law, and regulations.
- Manage and analyze large volumes of documents, including e-discovery and production.
- Coordinate and assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Maintain and track deadlines, court filings, and case calendars.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, experts, and opposing counsel as needed.
- Prepare trial binders, witness files, and exhibits for court proceedings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in commercial litigation.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules, filing procedures, and discovery processes.
- Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and e-discovery platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
