Job Summary: Our Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the heavy equipment shop, ensuring all vehicles and machinery are maintained, repaired, and ready for use in asphalt production and paving operations. This role involves managing shop personnel, coordinating maintenance schedules, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Job Duties & Requirements:

- Supervise and lead a team of mechanics and shop technicians.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance and repair work for trucks, paving equipment, and other machinery.
- Monitor equipment performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and service logs.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Manage parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for timely procurement.
- Assist in budgeting for shop operations and equipment maintenance.
- Train and mentor shop staff on procedures, safety, and equipment handling.
- Collaborate with field crews and operations to align equipment availability with project needs.
- Conduct regular inspections of shop facilities and equipment.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment or truck maintenance, preferably in the asphalt or construction industry.
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
- Proficient in maintenance software and recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
