Core ResponsibilitiesThe specialist will function as a highly skilled member of the multidisciplinary oncology team, executing prescribed radiation treatment plans with the utmost safety and accuracy. Responsibilities include:
- Treatment Delivery & Execution:Accurately deliver high-energy radiation treatments to oncology patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, ensuring precise patient positioning, machine operation, and daily verification procedures.
- Advanced Technology Operation:Proficiently operate and maintain various state-of-the-art linear accelerators and delivery systems, including the AccurayCyberKnifeunit, Varian
- TrueBeam , Elekta
- Infinities , and the High Dose Rate (
- HDR ) suite.
- Patient Care & Management:Provide direct patient care, assessing the patient's physical and emotional status before, during, and after treatment. Monitor patient reactions, identify potential side effects, and maintain proper communication with the nursing and physics teams.
- Quality Assurance & Safety:Perform daily quality assurance checks on equipment, monitor machine performance, and adhere strictly to all safety protocols (radiation safety, infection control, and sterile techniques).
- Documentation & Coordination:Maintain meticulous and accurate patient treatment records, charts, and billing information. Collaborate effectively with dosimetrists, physicists, and oncologists to ensure seamless coordination of complex treatment protocols.
- Simulation and Planning Support:Assist in simulation procedures, including CT simulation, localization of tumors, and preparation of immobilization devices to ensure accurate treatment planning.
- CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist)- Required State of California certification.
- ARRT(T)-ARRT Radiation Therapycertification is required.
- BLS- CurrentBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providerscertification by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience:Less than one (1) year of experience.
- Education:Minimum Education isOther(appropriate program completion).
