Due to an internal promotion, automotive supplier is seeking a
Quality Engineerfor their fast-paced team. As the Quality Engineer, you will report to the Quality Manager and work with a team of quality professionals. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Communicate with key customers and serve as the point of contact for quality issues
- Determine root cause of quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Assist the manufacturing floor with quality issues and concerns
- Review control plans
- Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for customers and management
- Assist area managers and process engineers with problem solving
- Monitor and update portals
- Champion formal problem solving teams
- Complete defect analysis in a lab setting
- Utilize Minitab software
- Additional responsibilities as delegated by the manager
This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 50% of their day. Candidates should enjoy working in a team-oriented environment and communicating with hourly and salary staff within different departments to drive quality improvements. Candidates should be able to work in fast-paced environments, work independently and take ownership of their projects. Proactive thinkers are encouraged to apply! Travel to customer sites and sister plants will be up to 10% of the time; most travel is within driving distance.

REQUIREMENTS for the Quality Engineer:
1. Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field; experience will be considered in lieu of degree
2. At least three years of similar quality engineering experience with an automotive supplier or OEM or in fast-paced, mass production manufacturing environments
3. Root cause analysis and corrective actions
4. Formal problem solving skills
5. Experience communicating with customers
6. Working knowledge of FMEAs and control plans
7. Microsoft Office
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Statistical process control (SPC)
2. Quality certifications
3. 5WHY experience
