Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Kraemer Safety and Quality Programs by working safely
  • Construct form work used for forming concrete structures prior to bridge/dam construction
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks and repairs on tool vans, heating houses, and storage containers
  • Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structures
  • Accurately measure materials with proper measuring tools
  • Make decisions based on verifiable standards
  • Prepare layouts, mark cuttings/assembly line on materials, assemble cuts, stand up framework
  • Pre-cut studs for concrete formwork and bracing
  • Assist with layout and elevation survey
  • Conduct standard rigging activities

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a carpenter preferred
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely operate equipment (lifts), hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to work with a variety of wood related products
  • Repetitive use of hands and wrists with various tools, including fine motor movements/manipulations
  • Ability to work at various heights utilizing appropriate PPE
  • Ability to walk on uneven ground, be exposed to cold/hot temperatures, dusty/dirty/greasy surroundings.
  • Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
  • Ability to work well with a team and minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at various heights utilizing appropriate PPE
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and dusty/dirty surroundings
  • Repetitive use of hands and wrists with various tools, including fine motor movements and manipulations

Base salary is dependent on multiple factors: education, experience, skills, market rates, internal equity and/or location.
