This coordination ensures cohesive security measures and effective operational readiness, crucial for joint task force success in Honolulu's strategic environment.
Unlike general military officers, Military Police Operational Planners focus on security, risk assessments, and law enforcement within military contexts. Their expertise lies in crafting detailed operational plans that safeguard personnel and installations while ensuring compliance with military protocols.
Candidates usually have over five years in military police or related security fields, hold a TS/SCI clearance, and possess a bachelor's degree. Preferred credentials include advanced degrees in military science or security studies and experience in Pacific theater operations.
Honolulu's location demands planners to address Pacific regional security dynamics, coordinate with diverse military and civilian agencies, and adapt to evolving threats. The island’s strategic position also requires awareness of international military cooperation and joint task force protocols.
Salaries for this role in Honolulu typically range from $113,325 to $188,875, reflecting factors like experience and security clearance. The cost of living in Hawaii often leads to compensation at the higher end compared to mainland equivalents in similar military planning positions.
At Deloitte, planners benefit from continuous learning opportunities, leadership development, and mentorship programs. The firm’s inclusive culture encourages innovation and provides access to cutting-edge technology projects, facilitating professional growth aligned with military and security expertise.
Deloitte offers exposure to advanced AI and engineering solutions that enhance operational planning, enabling planners to innovate beyond typical military constraints. This environment fosters collaboration across industries, expanding strategic impact and career versatility.
Given Honolulu’s strategic military importance, demand for skilled operational planners remains steady. The presence of multiple military bases and allied operations creates ongoing opportunities, though competition is influenced by required security clearances and specialized experience.
An active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory, ensuring access to sensitive intelligence. While not always required, certifications in security management, intelligence analysis tools, or specialized military operations software can greatly enhance a candidate’s effectiveness in this role.
The position blends advisory duties with leadership elements, including providing strategic recommendations to senior military leadership and coordinating operational activities. While not always commanding troops, planners influence mission success through critical decision-making and stakeholder collaboration.
