IU Health Palliative Care is focused on improving quality of life while dealing with a serious illness and providing personalized care that is focused on the patient, not just their disease, supporting care goals through pain and symptom management, spiritual and psychosocial counseling and assistance in advance care planning. We aim to support the patient and their loved ones.
Position Details:
- This is aPRNhybrid opportunity with limited on-site requirements
- Provide clinical consults with patient/family members at the Bloomington, IndianaHospice House(rounding within 24 hours of admission)
- 48-hour on-call (at home/on phone) coverage - Saturday 8:00am to Monday 8:00am
- Key responsibilities include: end of life care, medication management, H&P/clinical notes and symptom control
- Team includes one Physician and one Advanced Practice Provider
Qualifications:
- Must hold eitherACNP, AGNP or FNPcertifications
- APP Experience in Palliative or Hospice Carehighly preferred
- If new graduate, RN experience in Hospice/Palliative Care isrequired
- Must have valid driver's licensure and reliable transportation as driving is required
The newIU Health Bloomington Hospitaland Regional Academic Health Center opened in December 2021. The facility offers a personalized approach to inpatient services (including intensive care, complex surgeries and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services), outpatient services with leading-edge diagnostic testing, flexible space in the emergency department for post-care observation, a dedicated trauma center and a cancer infusion center.
At the same time, the facility strengthens healthcare education by providing space for collaboration and coordination of care and teaching. Students and trainees frequently come to the hospital side of the facility for clinical experiences.
