Position
As the Varsity Tennis Assistant Coach, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to work with approximately 530 exceptional, gifted young men, talented faculty, and committed staff.
Located in New York City, Regis High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school and the only Jesuit, full-scholarship high school in the country. The school was founded in 1914 through the generosity of an anonymous woman and her family. Regis now relies on philanthropy of alumni, parents, and friends as its most significant source of financial support.

Position Summary
The Varsity Tennis Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach to oversee all aspects of the tennis program. This includes developing and implementing practice plans, updating game outcomes on TeamSnap, help securing additional courts, mentoring student-athletes, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. The coach will work closely with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to ensure the program aligns with the school's mission and values. .
Job Responsibilities
- Help plan, organize, and conduct practices, training sessions, and games.
- Teach fundamental tennis skills and techniques to doubles teams and practice squad.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment.
- Partner with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to monitor the academic performance of student-athletes to ensure eligibility.
- Help communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration via email or TeamSnap.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student athletes. Travel with the athletes to all games.
- Assist the Head Coach and Athletic Director in managing team scores, travel arrangements, equipment, and uniforms.
- Willing to advance the Jesuit | Catholic mission of the school and works in collaboration with the administration in observing the principles and ideals for which Regis High School stands.
- And any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous coaching experience at high school or collegiate level
- In-depth knowledge of tennis rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
- Commitment to academic excellence and promoting a balanced student-athlete lifestyle.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
Compensation
Stipend: $ 2,924.00
