Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist assists in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures. In addition to performing the duties of the Surgical Technologist, the Senior Surgical Technologist functions in a specialty service and utilizes and troubleshoots service implementation and equipment and is a resource to the Surgical Technologists.
The UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland (OR) consists of 11 surgical suites and 1 procedural.
Walnut Creek has two surgical suites and one special procedure room.
Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing.
Services include, but are not limited to: Neurology, Ortho/Spine, Otolaryngology, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Cardiac, General Surgery, GI, Hem/Onc.
All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high quality patient care and customer service is consistently provided. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $48.32 - $60.17 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Current CPR Certification
Graduate of surgical technician training program or equivalent experience
1 year experience as a Surgical Technician
Demonstrated competency in more than one surgical specialty
