Bus Driver
The University of New Mexico Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) is hiring multiple full-time Bus Drivers to join our dynamic 39-member driving team. Each year, our team safely transports 1.7 million students, faculty, staff, and visitors to and from the University. As one of the first University representatives encountered by guests, our bus drivers play a vital role in supporting UNM’s community outreach and public relations efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services.
- Assist in maintaining a positive image of the University through professional interactions with passengers and all PATS team members.
- Operate shuttle buses in accordance with established schedules and safety regulations.
Schedule & Availability:
- Shuttle Service coverage hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:20 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Fridays.
- Must be available for occasional overtime, weekend hours, and coverage during special events.

- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement is a requirement for this job.
- As a CDL driver, the employee will be required to comply with all provisions of DOT Regulation 49 CFR Parts 40 and 382, including random drug and alcohol testing.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Experience:
- At least 6 months of experience operating large passenger buses (40 feet or greater).
- Experience working within a scheduled transportation system.
- Recent experience (within the last 5 years) driving large passenger buses.
