Title: Psychiatric Medical Director (Part-Time)
Location: Bronx, NY (Hybrid – on-site and remote flexibility)
Salary + Benefits: $165/hour | Part-time (5–10 hours/week) | No benefits
Responsibilities of Psychiatric Medical Director:
• Provide clinical supervision and leadership to psychiatric providers, including psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners
• Lead efforts to recruit and retain high-quality psychiatric staff
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies related to psychiatric care, medication management, and integrated services
• Review and maintain documentation standards in the electronic medical record system
• Oversee implementation of medication-assisted treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine/naloxone prescribing
• Ensure proper delivery of telepsychiatry services in collaboration with clinic leadership
• Participate in key operational meetings: clinical rounds, leadership planning, and high-risk case discussions
• Serve as liaison to psychiatric hospitals and emergency departments throughout the city
• Collaborate with executive leadership to design and oversee psychiatric training programs
• Lead the clinic’s Incident Review Committee
• Provide direct patient care for at least 70% of the time (unless otherwise approved)
• Promote a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards and safety protocols
• Perform other leadership functions as assigned by senior clinical leadership
Requirements of Psychiatric Medical Director:
• M.D. or D.O. with active and unrestricted New York State medical license
• Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)
• Graduate of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders
• Experience providing care to children, adolescents, and adults
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary teams
• Proficient in diagnostic assessment and treatment planning
• MAT-waivered or willingness to obtain waiver within 3 months of hire
