Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Controller to support the Controller in managing the organization’s accounting operations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective internal controls. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, proactive, analytical, collaborative professional with strong background in manufacturing finance and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead and coordinate the month-end close process to ensure completion within a strict 2-day timeline
- Oversee general ledger activities and journal entries, reconcile key accounts and validate financial data for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures
- Coordinate audits and liaise with internal and external auditors
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to track production costs, overhead allocation, and inventory valuation.
- Manage the fixed asset register, conduct periodic asset audits and reconcile physical assets with accounting records
- Prepare and file property tax yearly filings
- Collaborate with cost accountants and operations to analyze cost variances and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency
- Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
- Assist with treasury operations as required
- Support the accounts payable, accounts receivables, and general accounting to shared services
- Developing and maintaining contact lists for different departments
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Strong Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (Infor XA, OneStream, Blackline) and intermediate excel skills required
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
