Position Details:

  • Full-time, M-F position
  • Currently no weekends or holidays
  • No Call
  • 60% Inpatient, 40% Outpatient

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care across both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Outpatient responsibilities include:
    • Clinic coverage on Mondays and Wednesdays where the APP will evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively
    • Manage follow ups
    • Collaborate with surgical team to develop care plans
  • Inpatient responsibilities include:
    • Conduct daily rounds
    • Manage post operative recovery
    • Perform bedside procedures such as chest tube and wound care, and also coordinate discharge planning
  • Strong clinical judgement, effective communication, and the ability within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications:

  • Master's DegreeRequired
  • ACNP, FNP, PA certificationRequired
  • ACNP or PA with prior clinical experience in surgical services.
  • Prior cardiothoracic or general thoracic experiencepreferred

IU Health is building a new downtown hospital and campus, which will consolidate operations of the adjacent IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. Construction for the new hospital is well underway and set to open in late 2027. It will feature three 16-story towers with 864 beds. IU School of Medicine is also constructing a medical education and research building directly east of the new hospital.
