We are excited to announce a new opportunity to join our team working as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to perform 1st assist during surgery at one of our affiliated hospitals. Our organization is a rapidly expanding orthopedic practice with over 15 locations throughout Connecticut and New York. We have won numerous awards for patient care and are a leading providing of orthopedic care in the Northeast. As the Orthopedic Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner, you would be working with a supportive team of physicians, NP’s, PA’s, and medical assistants. You would have an opportunity to work in our outpatient clinic doing pre-operative and post- operative care and doing 1st assist during surgery at the hospital. This is a full time permanent opportunity with full benefits included. This position would be Monday through Friday working 40 hours per week. Please see job highlights below for more information.

Location: Poughkeepsie NY
Salary: $135,000 to $145,000 + bonus incentive
Benefits: Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, 401k with match, CME credit, 5 weeks PTO, 8 paid holidays, malpractice
Responsibilities:
1st assist during surgeries at the local hospital
Pre-operative and post operative care in our outpatient clinic
Involved in daily rounding on patients
Suturing wounds and providing wound care management
Prescribing medication when appropriate
Documenting notes accordingly
Giving injections
Advising patients on injury/illness status and best course of treatment
Reading lab work and medical exams
Ordering diagnostic tests
Requirements:
Board Certification as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Graduate of accredited PA or NP school program
