The Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah seeks applicants for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank. These positions are subject to University funding and approval. Candidates should hold a Ph.D., or show evidence that their doctoral dissertation will be substantially completed by August 1, 2026. These positions will require high levels of scholarship, teaching, and collegiality.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, working or job market paper, research and teaching statement, and evidence of teaching ability (teaching evaluations). Our current tenure line faculty include Jay Barney, Victor Bennett, Lyda Bigelow, Jen Brown, Colleen Cunningham, Teppo Felin, Josh Feng, Bill Hesterly, Bill Schulze, Orie Shelef, Jason Snyder, Rob Wuebker, and Todd Zenger. While all are Strategy and/or Entrepreneurship scholars, our research focus is varied as reflected in the broad range of journals in which our faculty have published in recent years, including the Strategic Management Journal, Strategy Science, Organization Science, American Economic Review, Management Science, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Research Policy.

The Department has a post-doctoral fellowship program that provides important academic support and leadership to five institutes and centers within the Eccles School: the Lassonde Entrepreneurship Institute, the Goff Strategic Leadership Center, the Sorenson Center for Discovery and Innovation, and the Sorenson Impact Center. The Department has also recently launched a novel Master of Business Creation.
