Job Title:Materials Assistant
Schedule:Monday-Friday, Shifts starting at 6:00AM
General Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for inventory tracking, receiving, and stocking medical supplies by location. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of computers having had practical experience with inventory tracking software while being willing to learn and gain a greater understanding of the intricacies of materials management. Preferred candidate with Medical experience either in materials or as a surgical tech. Candidate will be very detail oriented, possess great communication skills, and have a great attitude. Candidate must be able to maintain an even flow of materials taking the initiative to understand staff daily needs to maintain operations while fully supporting the company mission. The ability to work flexible hours including occasional late evenings or early mornings is required. This position requires mobility such as walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, rotating, pushing, etc. Grow and excel in an outstanding team environment! Full Time, no nights, no weekends.
Education/License Requirements:
· Two years healthcare inventory experience
· Experience in purchasing, inventory, and or supplies management.
Material Handler Job Duties:
· Materials Handler maintains the order of stock room by receiving, unpacking, and inspecting merchandise as it arrives. They may tag items for inventory control and distribute merchandise to the proper location using a dolly. Required to maintain adequate stock levels in the Clinical areas, as well as the stock room.
· Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory.
· Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
· Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
· Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
· Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
· Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
· Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
· And other responsibilities and duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.
Physical requirements:
· Ability to sit for long periods and ability to walk
· Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to reach overhead and to reach low.
· Physical Strength for lifting boxes of supplies up to 50 pounds.
· Visual and auditory acuity for reviewing documents related to supply ordering and processing.
· Ability to maintenance a high level of commitment to punctuality and attendance.
