Balfour Beatty is seeking a Mission Critical Superintendent to lead field operations on complex data center and mission critical projects in Northern Virginia. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of building the infrastructure that powers the digital world.
Essential functions
As a Mission Critical Superintendent, you’ll be the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for:
- Driving a Zero Harm safety culture across all field operations.
- Coordinating and supervising all subcontractor and self-perform work.
- Leading project planning, scheduling, and logistics from preconstruction through closeout.
- Managing field execution, quality control, and compliance with project specs and codes.
- Collaborating with the Project Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Mentoring and developing assistant superintendents and field staff.
- Champion safety through daily walks, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
- Lead subcontractor meetings, OAC meetings, and project reporting.
- Develop and maintain project schedules (P6 preferred), 3-week lookaheads, and pull planning sessions.
- Oversee procurement tracking, change order negotiations, and cost-loaded schedules.
- Ensure quality through inspections, punch list management, and final approvals.
- Build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and community stakeholders.
Minimum requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional construction or engineering education a plus.
- 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience on mission critical or data center projects.
- Proficiency with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and ideally Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of construction documents, codes, and field operations.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
