The Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer contributes to the network team in a variety of ways from creation, patching and management of workstation images to virtual machines to ensure a stable and secure network.
- Ensures all workstations and servers under the responsibility of SoS are patched in accordance with SoS standards using MS ECM and/or Intune. Develop and maintain all workstation images for deployment to new workstations using MS ECM.
- Reviews/evaluates configuration/operations of any server & network-based systems; evaluates new server hardware and/or software for potential implementation in SOS environment; identifies, designs & documents server configurations & physical layouts; • Install, configure & maintain virtual infrastructure; maintains industry knowledge of VMWare virtual technology & storage systems;
- Install, configure, update & maintain web server software specifically Microsoft’s Internet Information Services (IIS) on DMZ & LAN; maintains web system performance by performing system monitoring, analysis & performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software & operating & systems; tracking system capacity (e.g., CPU, memory, disk space) & reporting/correcting any issues;
- Under direction of Network Infrastructure Manager; ensures technical direction of applications & solutions both within & across business area portfolios while ensuring strong alignment with business strategy; installs/maintains server-based hardware & related equipment; administer networks-based applications (e.g., Azure/Entra ID, AD, DNS, DHCP);
