Custodian
Working at Popejoy Hall, this position works as part of a two-person staff custodial team, with 6 supporting student employees. Popejoy Hall welcomes approximately 250,000 patrons each year. Our custodial team performs general custodial maintenance duties including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms. In addition to providing daytime hours for general office maintenance, this position will also be required to work nights and weekends during performances at Popejoy Hall. Providing a clean facility for our patrons to enjoy during performances is paramount to fulfilling our mission and ensuring customer satisfaction. Our Custodial team is also responsible for three sets of restrooms at Popejoy, plus the green room and artist dressing rooms which house touring companies performing at Popejoy. In addition, our team is also responsible for the upkeep of the Center for the Arts restroom during performances so we may provide the best patron experience possible.
Duties:
Dusts and mops floors. Vacuums carpets. Cleans restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies. Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies. Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal. May change light bulbs as directed. Locks doors after cleaning areas. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as required.

- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Prior experience working in a custodial capacity at a performing arts venue or similar facility preferred.
