We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Groundskeeper/Lawn Mower Technician to maintain the aesthetic and beautiful quality of lawns and landscaped areas. This role includes routine mowing, planting, mulching, and seasonal tasks such as fertilization and winterization. Ideal candidates will have experience with groundskeeping equipment and understand the seasonal needs of lawns and outdoor spaces. Work may include non-garden related groundskeeping work such as snow removal, painting, and other similar tasks. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities/DutiesLawn Maintenance
- Operate commercial-grade mowers, trimmers, and edging tools.
- Mow lawns regularly and maintain clean, even cuts across all turf areas.
- Trim grass around obstacles and along fences, sidewalks, and flower beds.
- Collect and dispose of yard debris such as leaves, clippings, and branches.
Planting and Mulching
- Plant, maintain, and upkeep numerous ornamental planting beds in a variety of styles and locations.
- Apply mulch or bark around landscaping features to prevent weed growth and improve soil health.
- Maintain neat and tidy appearance of all mulched areas.
- Apply fertilizers according to schedule and soil requirements.
- Calibrate and operate fertilizer spreaders and sprayers.
- Monitor plant health and report any signs of nutrient deficiency or pest infestation.
- Prepare lawns and landscaped areas for winter by cutting grass to appropriate lengths.
- Apply winter fertilizers and anti-desiccant sprays.
- Wrap trees or shrubs and protect sensitive plants from frost or snow.
- Drain and store hoses and irrigation systems as needed.
Miscellaneous Tasks
- Garden-scale tree trimming
- Pruning and shearing of shrubs and hedges
- Light forest management
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or similar outdoor work.
- Familiarity with lawn care equipment and safe operating procedures.
- Knowledge of seasonal lawn care techniques (fertilization, aeration, overseeding, winter prep).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- This is a full-time position.
- Must pass background check and drug test.
- Seasonal hours may vary; weekends and early mornings may be required.
- Overtime may be available during peak maintenance seasons.
