Our client, a rapidly expanding community health organization, is launching an exciting new behavioral health program focused on providing specialized psychiatric care to diverse patient populations throughout New York City. As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in shaping this innovative initiative — helping to bridge gaps in mental health access and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

This is not your typical nursing role. You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values your expertise and gives you the flexibility you deserve. Choose from a variety of schedules — 7am–3pm, 9am–5pm, or 1pm–9pm — all while enjoying the outstanding 1199 Union benefits package.

Titile: Psychaitric Registered Nurse

Location: Bronx, NY

Salary + Benefits: $92,000 – $93,000 annually + 1199 Union Benefits + comprehensive health coverage + flexible scheduling options

Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Registered Nurse

• Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessments for patients across various backgrounds.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement individualized treatment plans.

• Provide psychological support, patient education, and stabilization interventions.

• Refer patients to appropriate community resources and specialty care when necessary.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system.

• Partner with the Quality team to identify and mitigate clinical risks.

• Contribute to an environment of continuous improvement and compassionate care.

Requirements of the Psychiatric Registered Nurse

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Active New York State RN license in good standing.

• New graduate RNs welcome to apply!

• Preferred: 1+ year of psychiatric nursing experience (inpatient, outpatient, or community health).

• Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

• BLS certification required.

• Familiarity with community mental health treatment models preferred.
