SUMMARY:
Masters is seeking an experienced fencing coach to help lead an already strong program that has seen a number of top finishes within the Independent School Fencing League (ISFL). The ideal candidate will continue to foster excellence through hard work, positivity and enjoyment while building a foundation of trust with athletes, families and the Masters community. They will look to utilize our top-notch facilities, including a state of the art fencing room, newly renovated weight room and a fully equipped cardio room.
This is a part time position from November 10, 2025 through February 28, 2026.
Requires 12 – 20 hours per week in season and out-of-season responsibilities as described below. .
Upper School practices are Monday through Friday 3:45-5:45 pm and Saturday mornings with contests during the week and on Saturdays.
Middle School practices are Monday through Friday 2:35-3:35 pm with contests throughout the week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend all program/Department events and meetings
Effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents and all pertinent constituencies
Provide positive and constructive feedback/coaching during practices and competitions
Implement and adhere to school/Athletics Department/league rules and expectations
Positively represent the school at all pertinent league functions
Strategically build and maintain program excellence through internal and external resources
REQUIREMENTS:
Able to coach from November 10th through February 28, 2026 at the hours listed in the above summary
Prior fencing coaching experience and/or a high level of playing experience
Experience with coaching sabre preferred but not required
Have a sound knowledge of the sport specific rules and regulations as per US Fencing and the ISFL
Have strong leadership skills to motivate and develop student athletes
Ability to facilitate a positive, comprehensive, and competitive program
Able to travel to all away competitions
