Position description
Applications are being sought for the Project Scientist Series from Ph.D. or M.D. /Ph.D. candidates (Assistant, Associate, or Full Rank) or equivalent experience with strong laboratory research backgrounds, publications & and specialized training. Openings are anticipated betweenJuly 14, 2025 & June 30, 2026in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of California, Irvine.
Initial appointments are for one year & renewal is based on available support. Current faculty & research interests are:
J. Chan: Liver development/function, oxidative stress response, and cancer
L. de la Maza: Chlamydia trachomatis; immunopathology and vaccine development
D. Mercola: Promoter binding and activation profiles of cancer
E. Monuki: Brain development
E. Head: Brain Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease
A. La Spada: Mechanisms of Neurodegenerative Disease / Neurotherapeutics
J. Lipkova: Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. https://octopath.org/
M. Rose: Neuronal Diversity, Omics, and Imaging in Brain Development and Disease
H. Park: Breast cancer, epigenetics, environmental exposures, and biomarkers
F. Rahmatpanah: Prostate cancer disparities, Ovarian cancer, Epigenetics, Human endogenous retroviruses in cancer
H. Mkhikian: Glycoimmunology in health, autoimmunity, and immune senescence; glycoproteomics and cross-linking mass spectrometry
P. Shah: Computational Medicine
A. Qavi: Conventional diagnostics through new optical technologies
