Position Overview
TheAssistant Dean of Practical Nursingprovides critical leadership and oversight for the college’s Practical Nursing program. This position works closely with the Dean to ensure academic excellence, compliance with regulatory standards, and the ongoing success of both students and faculty. The ideal candidate combines academic expertise, operational acumen, and a passion for developing the next generation of nurses.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage
- day-to-day operations of the Practical Nursing program
Support the Dean in
- strategic planning , budgeting, and program development
Ensure full compliance with
- Board of Nursing rules and accreditation standards
Supervise faculty and staff, including
- recruitment, training, evaluation, and mentoring
Lead
- curriculum development, implementation, and assessment
Develop and maintain
- clinical site partnerships , including site evaluations and approvals
Serve as a
- liaison between the college, community, and healthcare organizations
Monitor
- student performance , NCLEX outcomes, and job placement metrics
Oversee
- admissions, orientation, and graduation processes for nursing students
Manage
- student grievances and appeals in accordance with institutional policy
Facilitate
- faculty meetings , maintain accurate minutes, and promote open communication
Prepare and submit
- state and accreditation reports, proposals, and self-studies
Actively participate in
- program review, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
