Overview

Join the Cedar Point team as an Animation Technician and become an essential part of maintaining the magic of our world-class attractions! In this role, you’ll be responsible for the inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of animatronics, ride lighting, and ride show elements. From working with pneumatic systems to welding and waterpark equipment, no two days are the same. Under the supervision of skilled full-time technicians, foremen, and supervisors, you will gain valuable hands-on experience while making an impact in a dynamic, fun-filled environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Repair: Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair animatronics, ride show elements, pneumatic systems, and prop controllers.

  • Variety of Projects: Adapt to a wide variety of tasks including repairing fiberglass, working on fog systems, waterpark equipment, and much more!

  • Collaboration: Work closely with a team of full-time technicians, supervisors, and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Guest Experience: Contribute to creating amazing experiences for our guests by ensuring our attractions are operating smoothly and safely.

  • Safety: Work safely at heights using catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, and scaffolding as required by the job.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience & Skills:

    • Basic understanding of electrical equipment and pneumatic systems.

    • Experience with animatronics and animatronic prop controllers is a plus.

    • Ability to work at heights and use related safety equipment such as aerial lifts and crane baskets.

  • Licensing & Tools:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license.

    • Must be willing to join the Laborers Union.

    • Must provide own hand tools for the job.

  • Work Schedule:

    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.
