Food Service Manager
The Food Service Department plays a vital role in creating a pleasant experience for our guest groups and campers. We are looking for a Food Service Manager to join our staff. The position will require an individual with a strong, growing, and deep relationship with Jesus Christ, and the ability and desire to tell others about Jesus.
This is a full-time, working supervisory position with a competitive salary package and on-site housing available. The on-site housing offered is a 3 bedroom / 2 bath mobile home with fenced in back yard and a carport. All utilities except Wi-Fi are included in the salary package. The applicant will be expected to work weekends and some holidays as guest group needs require. The Food Service Manager will report to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
-Oversee all aspects of food service operations including meal planning, preparation, and service for groups
-Train and lead all kitchen staff and volunteers
-Ability to operate efficiently within an annual budget as defined by Executive Director
-Develop and plan menus that are nutritious, varied, and appealing to guests
-Oversee all supply/food ordering from vendors
-Ensure kitchen facilities and equipment are maintained in superior condition and meet sanitation standards
-Implement proper food storage, rotation, preservation, and safety practices in compliance with all local and state regulations
-Prepare for and pass government inspections related to food safety and cleanliness
-Ensure the delivery of balanced meals on time, at the right temperature, and in appropriate quantities
-Manage and maintain proper inventory
-Other tasks as required by Camp Leadership
Requirements:
-Ability to safely use all kitchen equipment to include knives, stand mixer, oven, gas stove, griddle, deep fryer, and other equipment
-Serve Safe or equivalent Food Protection Manager Certificate or the ability to obtain one
-Above average hand/eye coordination
-Experience cooking in mass quantity
-Ability to accomplish multiple tasks at the same time
-Strong work ethic
-High degree of integrity
-Pleasant attitude and ability to handle guest issues promptly
-Pass a local, state, and federal background check and sex offender database search
-Valid Texas drivers license or ability to obtain one and clean driving record
