Forsyth County’sCapital Projects Departmentis seeking an experiencedSenior Project Manager (Vertical)to lead large-scale building and facility projects from concept through completion. This position oversees planning, design, bidding, and construction for complex vertical infrastructure projects—including public safety, administrative, and community facilities—ensuring quality, budget, and schedule compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end vertical construction projects from planning through completion
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders during design and construction
Prepare bid documents, oversee procurement, and manage contractor selection
Administer contracts, budgets, schedules, invoices, and change orders
Monitor project progress to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
Conduct pre-construction meetings, inspections, and final walkthroughs
Provide technical guidance and leadership to project managers and inspectors
Lead value engineering, design review, and process improvement initiatives
Serve as the County’s liaison with consultants, contractors, and design teams to ensure effective collaboration
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local building standards and permitting requirements
Qualifications
Project Manager II:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Five (5) years of experience in professional construction management and inspection
Master’s degree and professional certification (e.g., PMP) preferred
Project Manager, Senior:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Five (5) or more years of professional experience in construction management and inspection
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Georgia required
Experience managing
- building design and construction projects required
Candidates may be considered for either Project Manager II or Senior Project Manager based on qualifications.
