Maintenance Manager--Camp & Gap Year Program in PA
Overview:
We are seeking a full-time or part-time Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that the buildings, grounds, and equipment at HTH are well-maintained in order to provide a safe, enjoyable, and beautiful context for guests and residents to learn, rest, have fun, and connect with the Lord and with each other. He or she will oversee regular, proactive maintenance, address repairs that arise, and assist with facility improvements, to both better serve guests and staff in the present as well as steward HTH’s facilities and property for years to come.
A full-time staff member will take on greater responsibility with leading facility projects and serve in some capacity with the Planted Gap Year program—based on interest, skill set, and experience. As part of a small and versatile staff team, he or she will participate and assist in various aspects of the HTH and Planted programs, along with the rest of the staff as needed, including guest services, HTH programming, farm operations, Planted activities, and student discipleship.
A Beautiful Location and a Tight-Knit Staff
We are a beautiful, small camp located in the Endless Mountains of Northern Pennsylvania (just minutes from the PA Grand Canyon in Wellsboro, PA). His Thousand Hills (HTH) Christian Camp and Retreat Center hosts retreats of 10-100 guests, as well as camps and events. Our staff also lead a 9-month discipleship program called Planted for 7-15 young adults each year, that cultivates a love and knowledge of God through Bible training, hands-on farming, outdoor adventure, and life skill development.
The small team of staff at HTH is a tight-knit community of families and individuals providing warm hospitality and spiritual discipleship to guests and gap year students. We steward and care for over 100 acres of woods and meadows and over a dozen buildings, which we utilize for year-round ministry. Is this the kind of ministry team you'd like to be a part of?
A Unique Opportunity
We are at an exciting stage of ministry growth as the Planted Gap Year program enters its 4th year and the number of students significantly expands, and as we begin to develop our own camp, retreat, and event programming to better serve local/regional churches and be a light for the gospel in our immediate community. We humbly seek direction from the Lord and his people as we consider how to better utilize this camp for his glory. We also recognize the need to bring on new staff to make this growth possible!
We are seeking someone with a love for Christ, a joyful commitment to serving others, a teachable spirit, and maintenance skills. As part of the small staff, it is important for a full-time staff member to be actively engaged in various aspects of the camp and gap year ministries, demonstrate spiritual maturity, and be active in and accountable to a local church. Is this where God may be calling you?
