Rockland Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry to provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented behavioral health services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
As Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry, you will utilize a range of psychosocial interventions and therapy methods including:
• Providing psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, treatments, and medication management.
• Establishing individual goals and treatment objectives.
• Prescribing medications and treatments, monitoring impact, and modifying as needed.
• Maintaining medical records and documentation.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy.Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry if they have certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in the Psychiatry specialty practice area by the New York State Education Department.

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
4. Your degree or college credit must have been awarded by a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational practices. If your degree or college credit was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
