Middle School Social Studies Teacher

Location:Lakeshore Middle School, Stevensville, MI 49127

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Highly Qualified Endorsements

    in Social Studies (RX or CA, CC or CD)
  • Valid teaching license/certification
  • Prior experience teaching middle school social studies preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of historical content, concepts, and skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team of teachers.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
  • Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and school events.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum objectives.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to further the goals of Professional Learning Communities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in social studies education.
