Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lymphedema Physical Therapist to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge and certification in lymphedema management, providing comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and education to patients with lymphedema and related conditions. This role requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lymphedema Management:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with lymphedema, including volume measurements, skin assessments, and functional evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), compression therapy, therapeutic exercise, and patient education.
- Provide advanced lymphedema therapy techniques, including complex decongestive therapy (CDT).
- Fit and educate patients on compression garments and other lymphedema management tools.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- General Physical Therapy:
- Provide direct patient care services in assigned areas, including evaluation, assessment, and treatment planning based on functional needs.
- Evaluate the response to care and readjust treatment plans as required.
- Plan and provide patient, family, peer, and community education.
- Coordinate services with other healthcare professionals, including physicians.
- Professional Development and Education:
- Function as a clinical instructor for students and interns.
- Participate in program development and evaluation.
- Maintain current knowledge and competency in critical areas.
- Promote hospital goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid California Physical Therapist License.
- Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) Certification.
- Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- 0-3 years of clinical experience as a practicing therapist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Experience with complex decongestive therapy (CDT).
- Demonstrated experience in a project or special assignment related to program or staff development.
- Experience serving as a clinical instructor for interning students and presenting in-services.
- Participation in community service events.
- APTA membership.
