Central New York Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Licensed Mental Health Counselor provide clinical mental health counseling and psychotherapeutic services to individuals with mental illness.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will perform a wide variety of treatment services including:
• Provide direct mental health counseling and psychotherapeutic treatment
• Conduct risk assessments, clinical evaluations, and intake screenings
• Document and maintain records and treatment plans
• Provide individual and group counseling and education
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy.Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor if they have a license and current registration as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State.

Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Licensed Mental Health Counselor eligible list.
OR
Candidates from within State Service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

This position is at Central New York Psychiatric Center's Attica Satellite Unit located on the grounds of Attica Correctional Facility in Wyoming County.

1. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position.
