Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Department of Economics at Florida State University, along with the Florida Institute for Governance and Civics (IGC), invite applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank. This position will be full-time, 9-month, within the Department of Economics. The appointment will also have a joint affiliation with the IGC. The anticipated start date is August 2026.
Applicants from any field will receive full consideration, though ideal candidates will demonstrate clear potential to produce frontier research that is policy relevant. We are especially interested in candidates whose research explores how economic and political institutions affect outcomes.
The successful candidate must show evidence of the potential to produce internationally recognized policy-relevant research (at the Assistant level) or have a strong track record of publication success (at the advanced Assistant level). Duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, service responsibilities, and engaging in IGC programming. Completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. before the date of hire is required.
